Gossamer Thread are a circus company based in Norwich, offering full-length devised shows, cabarets, performances for a variety of events and circus classes.
Originally formed in 2012 by multi-skilled circus artist Daisy Black and mentalist Alex McAleer, Gossamer Thread devised various original double-acts blurring the boundaries of cabaret, theatre, magic, circus and sideshow. These include audience favourite the star-crossed Love Machines, and Carny & The Tramp’s incomparable and unique tango on broken glass, which have appeared on stages all over Europe.

Directed by Daisy Black, who has a background in theatre production and lighting design, Gossamer Thread Circus have collaborated on a multitude of theatre & circus productions since 2016 that have appeared at:
- Norfolk & Norwich Festival
- Jacksons Lane London
- Underbelly's Southbank Speigeltent.
They have produced the acclaimed Gossamer Thread's Curious Cabaret at Norwich Arts Centre & Norwich Playhouse since 2013.
‘Quite simply the best show in town’ - Future Radio
In 2017 they were awarded Arts Council England funding to create a two-person show ‘Folie a Deux’, which appeared at Postcards Festival at Jacksons Lane in 2018.
In 2018 Gossamer Thread Circus’s first ensemble show was born - ‘250 Years of Circus in 60 Minutes’ - marking 250 years since the birth of circus. The show launched the Circus 250 celebrations in Norwich in 2018 and was supported by Arts Council England, Norwich Arts Centre, Seachange Arts, Jacksons Lane & sponsored by Norfolk Gin.

Gossamer Thread Circus offer a variety of different circus classes and courses in Norwich, from aerial to hula hoops. They have been running aerial courses in the city since 2013. Please go to the 'Classes' pages for more information and to book.
They are also available to teach workshops at schools, festivals and events.
